Associations and Links
AssociationsBelow are companies/ individuals with whom I'm currently working, or have worked with before, and would recommend.
Sandy Stewart - Excellent web designer and programmer. He and I together were completely responsible for the Bayer CropScience and Rouse websites. I do the 'understanding the client requirements and mapping/ wireframing everything out' bit, and Sandy takes that and delivers the fantastic design work and neat web programming you see on this site and others in the portfolio section. Tim Callaway - Top notch guy and what he doesn't know about the aircraft and the Royal Air Force isn't worth knowing. He's run the Royal Air Force website in the past with his company Deltaweb. He now runs the Royal Navy Lynx display team's website, as well as the Blue Eagles, and a bunch of others. He also commentates at air shows. Robert Burress - Business and wedding photographer par excellence. He took all the imagery for this website, and he's such an excellent wedding photographer that I'd recommend him to anyone. He has a truly amazing 'photographer's eye' that turns mere photography into art. Jane Craigie - Marketing and communications. I worked with Jane for a few years at DBT before she set up her own company. She has great communication skills and is excellent at event marketing and agri PR, as can be seen from her work with the Cereals show. Breeze & Freeze - I've known Ian Damms for some time, but only recently had the opportunity to work with him. Excellent quality. PH-WT - Great ad agency in Leamington Spa. Worked well with them for Bayer CropScience - great ideas, lovely people - they 'deliver' in every sense of the word. Evington Morris - excellent PR guys, especially within the agri field. They know their stuff. I worked with them at Bayer CropScience (root crops and seed treatments) and also at Ashbrook Simon-Hartley. Call David Evington on 01905 613142. Overdog - I've known John Davis for around 17 years. John helped develop some of the biggest brands in the games industry - Lara Croft, Civilisation and Hitman. He now runs a consultancy helping clients with business strategy, brand marketing and senior recruitment / headhunting. Richmond House - a fabulous boutique B&B in Chichester run by friends Bryan and Heather Allen. Although they haven't been going long, they've already garnered fantastic reviews on Tripadvisor.com - a perfect place to stay for Goodwood or Chichester Festival Theatre events. Go on, treat yourself! Useful linksBelow are simply useful or fun links to sites or companies I've used before: Rick Dangerous- an old MicroProse game that I worked on has now been re-written inFlash so you can play online - it's good old-fashioned gaming! Mindjet - mapping software that's brilliant for brainstorming and messing around with ideas Simon Hoggart - one of the best political commentators for some years. Mathmos Lava Lamps - wonderfully kitsch lights.. TripAdvisor - don't go anywhere on holiday without first checking the reviews on TripAdvisor. It's found me such gems as: Hotel Gardenia - quite simply the most beautiful family run hotel situated in Gargnano on Lake Garda. Lovely restaurants along the waterfront make it perfect for a romantic week for two. Hotel Pironi - beautiful little hotel in Cannobio on Lake Maggiore. Chocolate brownie recipe - a favourite of mine, and of my clients! These are extremely gooey and perfect any time of day. They even travel well - I used to send 2kg tupperware boxes of them out to Camp Bastion. One box even made it out to the frontline in Sangin for some hungry Marines. MotoGP on the BBC - of critical importance to me! MotoGP is the one thing I always have to make time for and watch. Fantastic action, great on-bike footage and plenty of overtaking (none of this F1 'overtaking in the pitstop' rubbish). And decent characters rather than bland Lewis and Kimi.. Special Places to Stay - Alistair Sawday's excellent books translated onto the web. Use the interactive map feature to find something a bit quirky and individual.. Mozilla - I use Firefox almost exclusively (although I do use IE to check compatibility). I also use Thunderbird (and Lightning) as an alternative to Outlook. Why pay loads of bucks when you can get just as good software for free/peanuts? Sheep Dash - test your reflexes with this fun BBC game..
