Red Lion Cricket Club

The Red Lion at Chalton, Hants has a Twenty20 pub cricket team that plays on the local Ditcham Park School cricket pitch. We play 'pub rules' cricket against other pubs and willing teams from around the local area.

We're on the lookout for new players to join our team. Any age can play - we have players from 13 to 60-something. What's important is the ability to laugh at yourself, give good banter both on and off the field, and be able to bowl vaguely in the direction of the stumps and know which end of the bat to hold.

We play most Thursday evenings throughout the summer from 6pm to 8 - 8.30pm and then retire to the home team's pub for a drink and food. We're an equal opportunities team - anyone can play as long as they can give a commitment to making that 6pm start time (which I know excludes a lot of you who want to play but can't get back from work in time).

If you're interested, please contact me at martin@martinmoth.co.uk

Opposing team captains: if you fancy playing us and we haven't got fixtures agreed, get in touch. This page will be updated as soon as they're confirmed - if a match is visible below, then it's a definite fixture.

Here's the local (or as local as I can get on the BBC) weather for the next 3 days. Fingers crossed for 'dry and sunny' once the season starts!
